FIND BALANCE & THRIVE.

My Approach
MotherLove Yoga is yoga designed specifically for mothers, pregnancy through menopause. I want to empower mothers to lean into the strength that already lives inside of them. My approach is deeply rooted in ancient teachings but also technical and backed by science. I enjoy learning and viewing this work through different lenses. Yoga needs to feel approachable, down to earth and fun. My classes are accessible to any mother and I want moms to feel seen whether they are pregnant, newly postpartum or are seeing their last child out of the nest. Yoga is like brushing your teeth— a daily practice to consistently take the best care of your mind and body. No specific type of body, fabulous Instagram account, yoga studio or fancy clothing needed! This is a journey of self love and care and there is no destination.
My Story
I'm Kari, a mother of two children and a registered yoga teacher with a focus in pelvic health and yoga therapy for women's health. Yoga has been a huge part of my life for 20 years including thousands of hours of training and teaching. My main trainings and certifications are in prenatal yoga, postnatal/postpartum yoga, yoga therapy and pelvic health. I specialize in yoga for the health and well-being of Mothers including pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause and menopause. It is no secret that Mothering is an ever-changing challenge and finding time to nourish yourself is often pushed to last or even out of mind. I know this feeling too well myself and a consistent yoga practice has lifted and carried me through incredible challenges.
My mission is to help Mothers claim their strength, find balance and thrive. I firmly believe everything you need to feel confident, strong, and vibrant in your body and mind already lives within you. Just as with our own children, we were once that tiny baby with a birthright to be perfect just as we are. Life and experiences do get in the way of this feeling especially in times of transition, stress and uncertainty. I'm here to help guide mothers as they grow to be undoubted leaders of their true, wholesome and incredibly healthy selves.
Yoga is not stretchy pants, heated rooms, and bendy bodies. Yoga is a holistic approach to wellness and a lifestyle anyone can integrate. I am here to learn with, support, and encourage Mothers on the remarkable and challenging journey through Motherhood. I bring a fresh and fun yet realistic perspective to helping Mothers create and achieve their physical, mental, and emotional goals and desires.
I live in Petaluma with my family and enjoy being in nature, hiking, dancing and cooking (and eating) up the local bounty.
