The MotherLove Yoga logo and icon is something I have been dreaming about for years. It took me a long time to land on what I wanted and I am glad it did. Not only did I have the chance to feel into my own strengths and weaknesses as a business owner but I intimately got to know MotherLove Yoga and the mothers I work with. I have experienced personal growth and transformation in this time and this is what has led to me finally offering my business its own identity.
When daydreaming about the design, I wanted to play with a balance of soft and feminine and strong and fearless. Those feelings are just a few that I deeply relate to about becoming a Mother. The typeface of MotherLove Yoga lends itself to the idea of softening edges, peaceful play and feminine energy. The downward pointing triangle is a symbol of the Yoni Shakti. The Yoni Shakti symbol is a manifestation of creativity, strength and peaceful power. This symbol is incredible transformation on every level of being and represents a strong sense of Self, fearlessness, radical love, and womb energy that creates life. For me, this symbol represents Mothers.
The symbol can be used as a mudra that enhances apana vayu. Apana vayu is a Sanskrit term in yoga that refers to grounded energy and the outward flow from the body. Apana vayu assists in letting go of what no longer serves us. It is located at the root chakra / pelvic floor region of the body. It is one of the five vital forces, or Prana Vayus, that govern the body. You can use this symbol and mudra to remove yourself from the negativity of the external world and to connect deeply to your inner self, inner peace, self love and compassion. This symbol is very special to me as I have leaned into it as part of my own practice for letting go and releasing into deep healing and transformation. I am beyond excited and humbled to offer its grounding energy and manifestations to MotherLove Yoga and all of you.
With love,
Kari
